Deep tissue massage in Flower Mound & Colleyville, TX

For the knot that's been living rent-free between your shoulder blades. Slow, firm, intelligent pressure that finds what's holding on — and convinces it to let go.

Available at Flower Mound Colleyville

Therapist applying focused deep tissue pressure to a client's upper back

Pressure with a purpose

Deep tissue massage isn't just "a massage, but harder." It's a different discipline. Instead of gliding over the surface, your therapist works slowly into the deeper layers of muscle and fascia — the connective tissue where chronic tension actually lives — using forearms, elbows, and sustained pressure to release adhesions ("knots") that quick strokes can't reach.

Sessions at High Stone start with a two-minute conversation: where it hurts, how it started, what you need your body to do this week. Then the work is built around exactly that. Desk shoulders and text neck. The low back that complains when you stand up. The hips that tightened somewhere around your last birthday. This is the massage our guests describe as "the one that actually fixed it."

Every session includes

  • A pressure conversation before and check-ins during — your comfort sets the depth
  • Focused trigger point work on your problem areas, not a fixed routine
  • Warming techniques first, so deep work lands on tissue that's ready for it
  • Aromatherapy-grade oils and hot towels on request, at no charge
  • Honest aftercare advice — stretches and habits that keep the release

What to expect

Tell us where it hides

You point to the spots; we ask the questions that find their cause. Undress to your comfort level — you're professionally draped the whole time.

Slow, deliberate work

The therapist warms the tissue, then sinks in gradually. You breathe through the good kind of intense; you speak up if it crosses the line.

Leave taller

Expect immediate looseness, mild next-day soreness, and a range of motion you'd forgotten. Water helps. So does coming back.

Made for

Desk workers with concrete shoulders. Athletes between training blocks. Parents who carry children (and everything else). Anyone whose massage motto is "you can go harder." If you're managing a diagnosed condition or recent injury, consider medical massage — same depth, added clinical structure.

Deep tissue isn't recommended during pregnancy, over recent injuries or surgical sites, or with certain conditions (blood thinners, DVT history). Call us if unsure — we'll route you to the right service instead of the door.

Deep tissue questions

It shouldn't. The goal is "productive discomfort" — firm pressure you can breathe through, often described as hurts-so-good. Sharp, bracing pain is counterproductive (muscles tighten to defend themselves), so your therapist checks in and adjusts. You are always one word away from lighter pressure.

Deep work creates a mild, workout-like soreness for 24–48 hours as tissue recovers — completely normal. Drink water, move gently, and the soreness gives way to a looseness you'll notice for weeks. If you prefer zero next-day soreness, ask for medium-firm pressure instead.

Speed, depth, and intent. Swedish uses long, flowing strokes for whole-body relaxation. Deep tissue works slower and deeper into specific muscle layers and knots, often holding sustained pressure on trigger points. If your main goal is unwinding, book Swedish; if it's releasing specific tension, you're on the right page.

A single session usually brings real relief, but tension that took months to build rarely leaves in one visit. Most guests feel a lasting difference after 2–3 sessions spaced two weeks apart. Our membership makes the maintenance rhythm affordable.

Deep abdominal and low-back pressure isn't recommended during pregnancy. Book our prenatal massage instead — therapists trained in prenatal work can still address shoulder and hip tension safely.

Whichever is closer — deep tissue is offered at both Flower Mound and Colleyville with the same standards. Online booking shows real-time availability at each.
